Bundesform or the Federal Form Chess Pieces emerged as alternative to the widely used staunton chess pieces in the 1930's in Germany. 
They became popular for use in Munich Chess Olympics of 1936 and subsequently found their use in chess tournaments.
They were particularly appreciated for their simple design, durability and affordability.  

This design will find great favour amongst chess players and collectors for their distinct appearance and playability. 

The chess pieces have been expertly handcarved and turned by master artisans with years of experience crafting these pieces. They are highly durable and will last for years and years to come. 

These chessmen are paired with our border less golden rosewood chessboard of 50mm square, making for an excellent combination to keep as display and earn the appreciation of your opponents
