TRACHYCARPUS LATISECTUS - WINDAMERE PALM

Coming from the Darjeeling District of Northeast India and Bhutan, Trachycarpus Latisectus is certainly one of the most exciting discoveries for palm lovers from temperate areas. It has large, strong, almost round, fan-shaped leaves (like Livistona) that shed naturally, leaving a smooth, slender trunk. It grows quickly and easily, withstands snow and severe frosts down to -12 degrees C. In nature, it grows at altitudes up to 2400 m above sea level. It also works well in subtropical climates.
