For sale is a Kodak Cartridge Camera No 4 Model E dated circa 1898 - 1900. The camera is numbered 28167.  It is in very good condition for its year, the leatherette is in good condition, no missing pieces.  The red bellows are lightproof.  The eye pieces are quite clear and easy to see through.  The lens is a Bausch and Lomb Rapid Rectilinear f4 lens with bulb, instantaneous and time settings.  They all work correctly and the iris operates smoothly through its range to 128.  The front element of the lens is excellent, the rear element shows some haze.  The movements on the mahogany frame, both verticle and horizontal work smoothly.  It has one take-up spool to accommodate the 104 size film.  There is also a sports finder mounted on top of the camera.
