1970s' Dubrovnik Chess Pieces Only Set- Triple Weighted Rosewood - 3.8" King
After the tremendous success of the 1950's Dubrovnik set , this design underwent several revisions to increase its play ability, including improving the shape of the knight and a wider rook.
The bases of all the pieces have been made chunkier and fatter. In fact this set is the heaviest in its class.
The design has been reconstructed using photographs of various antique original versions of the set.
Renowned Chess Grandmaster Bobby Fischer famously master once quoted - "This is the best set I have ever played on. It is marvelous."
