Central area of the plate depicting classical hand painted portrait of a beautiful young woman, dressed in a mauve ballgown holding a gold clutch and wreaths of flowers on a dark background, absolute masterpiece, signed with Schafer 

Gilt neoclassical designs throughout the rim on a cobalt blue background, raised enamel

Excellent condition, cobalt blue background colour has faded at places

Underglaze blue beehive mark on the underside and inscription " Iris "
