You are bidding on a large, very rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.

It depicts three bear hunters. They are standing on a bear skin (presumably the one they just shot and skinned). It's mate has appeared to challenge them and is shot at point blank range.

Also included with the print is a second page from the same journal with a 39-inch article. It is in French, but free computer translation programs make it easy to translate.

The caption reads:  Chasse a l'ours
which roughly translates to:  Hunting bears

It is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture fills most of the page, with a French caption below.

The page is in excellent condition for its age.
There is text/photos on the back of the print. See scan for an accurate view of the condition.

This is GENUINE antique/vintage item. It is not a modern reproduction.
