Welcome to the sale of this beautiful vase.

Made of hand beaten copper this Victorian vase is decorated with silver plated brass handles and trim, although most of the silver plate has worn away. It comes in two sections with the top and attached sleeve lifting out (see last pic). This suggests to me a couple of things it could have been used as, the first is obvious, a vase. The second is a wine cooler, the sleeve being plenty big enough for wine and Champagne, just pack the base with ice and you're good to go. Either way it's a beautifully made piece with great decorative appeal. The copper has taken on a lovely aged patina, be a real shame to polish it...

The vase measures (in cm) 36 tall by 26 wide.   

The lift out sleeve measures 12 wide by 18 deep.
