Lovely Woven Silk Picture of 3 Fishes
Roach or Rudd perhaps?

Name of Picture - Not known
Original Artist - Not known

Approx Frame Size :-   Height 9.75", Width 8.5",
Approx size of Visible Silk :-  height 5", width 4",

The picture was framed in Coventry and the framer had a 5 digit phone number which suggest a Coventry Weaving  pre 1980's.  It does not have any Cash's identifiers so could have been woven by several different companies, including W H Grant who did weave a fish picture for a calendar in 1960 - but not this one.

The picture is currently in what appear an "antiqued" gold painted wooden frame with a dark greyish green middle section and a gold inner edge.

The picture has a light sage green mount.

With Glass

Although great care will be taken in wrapping the picture, due to the possibility of mis-handling by the carrier, returns or claims due to broken glass are not accepted.  The picture will be  posted at your own risk.

Most Silk pictures were created using a Jacquard Method Loom. The work setting them up was very specialised.

The picture will be well wrapped and probably sent by courier  The quoted price is for UK mainland only (excluding remote areas). If you think you may live in a remote area please contact me prior to purchase for an accurate postage quote as surcharges may apply.

If you would like to buy more than one picture and would like to know about a possible combined postage cost or postage discount, then please email me.  I will always combine postage whenever it is economical to do so. Please also look at the pictures advertised by Saltfordsacha as I may be able to combine postage with these.

There is lots more information about various woven silk pictures on the internet - perhaps start your search by typing in Stevengraph" - which originally related to woven silk pictures by Thomas Stevens but seems to have morphed  to mean a woven silk or silk mix picture

Neyret Freres  was a world renown ribbon weaving company and produced  silk weavings  somewhere between the late 19th Century and the mid 20th Century.   As far as I know they were based in Lyon - probably at St Etienne, There was some link up with Cash's of Coventry but I haven't been able to establish what the connection was.  Cash's sold a range called their "French Series"  which I believe were woven either by Neyret Freres or using their "Jacquard Loom Cards".  Many of the "Cash's" pictures have the "NF" mark in the bottom left corner.  I have a large range of Cash's pictures both the French Series and others including animals, birds, fairies and butterflies, which I hope to list in due course.  I have a larger range of the Neyret Freres and other companies silk pictures.

Please note that I am not an expert or a business. These pictures are ones I have collected for myself over approximately 40 years.

I have taken several pictures of this item, so please let them be an integral part of my description, and please ask any questions prior to purchase as there are no returns on this item unless misrepresented by me
