DESCRIPTION

A stunning hand painted wooden egg by celebrated Russian miniaturist artist Lyusya Zhuk depicting a city scene with sailors wooing women on the street. The inscription translates to “Panel of the Revolution”. A masterpiece of the miniaturist's art.

This unique piece is meticulously painted in oil on wood, executed under a magnifying glass with details painted with a single-hair brush, then lacquered. Each egg takes at least four weeks' work. This piece bought personally from the artist by my mother in the early 1990s.
