*Condition: Very good. Gold is somewhat discolored. (See photos)
*Height: 4,9 cm / 1,93 inch.

*Important:
Rare French box, dating from the mid 19th century. Made in France,
around 1845. The box is made of fire-gilt brass (ormolu). Standing on
gilded brass grape leaves. We assume that this was used as a tobacco box.
It could also possibly be a pill box or something along those lines. The brass
is further decorated. The lid of the box is made of opaline glass, in egg shape.
This is in the same shape that the opaline "egg boxes" are made of.

*Materiaal: Opaline Glas + Verguld Messing.
*Kleur: Blauw + Goud.
*Conditie: Zeer goed. Goud is wat verkleurd. (Zie foto's)

*Belangrijk:
Zeldzaam Frans doosje, daterend van midden 19e eeuw. Gemaakt in Frankrijk,
omstreeks 1845. Het doosje is gemaakt van vuurverguld messing (ormolu).
Staande op verguld messing druivenbladeren. Wij gaan er vanuit dat dit als tabaksdoos
werd gebruikt. Het zou eventueel ook een pillendoosje of iets in die trant kunnen zijn.
Het messing is verder gedecoreerd. De deksel van de doos is gemaakt van opaline glas,
in ei vorm. Dit is in dezelfde vorm waar ook de opaline "egg-boxes" van gemaakt zijn.
