OLD 8” Round Wall-mount Mechanical Wind-up Fire or Burglar Alarm Bell, Large, Heavy & Loud

It works!  Wind it up and press the release button in the center of the bell to activate, cover your ears, and wait for it to stop ringing.

Designed to be wall mounted but can also work sitting flat on a table.  Remove from the wall or table to re-wind and then replace ready to manually activate. (Not intended for boxing or sports as it rings continuously until the spring winds down.)

This old relic is really loud and runs for quite a long time on a full wind. 

Lots of “patina”.  The bell was once nickel plated, some of which remains but quite a bit of “patina” as seen in the photos.   A few faint traces of green paint also on the outside bell surface.

The red painted pressed metal (probably steel or tin) housing for the winding spring and alarm mechanism is solid and the paint is still good.

No manufacturer name, number etc. that I can find.  There is an old UL decal on the back and part of a label that gave the winding key direction of rotation.

Size:  Overall approx. 8” in diameter by approx.5-1/2” tall.  The spring and mechanism housing is approx. 7 ½” diameter and approx. 2-1/4” tall.

SHIPPING NOTE:  this item is expensive to ship long distance due to its weight; however, it will fit into a USPS Medium Flat Rate Box which is the lowest cost shipping option; current cost $15.50 within the U.S.A. including Alaska and Hawai’i.
