Finn Ronne [1899 1980] was a noted Arctic explorer who served with Admiral Byrd as his executive officer on his 1939 expedition to the South Pole. After serving in the United States Navy, he was commissioned by the American Geographical Society to head the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition from 1946 to 1948. In the 1950's he was commissioned as the military and scientific research leader of the U.S. Weddell Sea base. Ronne was also a author of several books on the Antarctica and was awarded numerous awards for his service. Listed for auction is the autograph of Finn Ronne signed on a postal cover. The autograph is signed ''Finn Ronne'' in blue pen, the cover is postmarked Jan 7, 1947, and is affixed with one U.S. postage stamp. The cover measures 6.25 x 3.50 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic and the cover is a nice example of this noted explorer. We have listed a collection of astronaut, aviation and military autographs.
