The CM family of ceiling mount occupancy sensors provide a range of sensor solutions for applications with finished ceilings (ex. ceiling tiles, sheetrock and plaster). The CM family sensors utilize 100% digital Passive Infrared (PIR) detection and are available with several lens options, providing flexibility for multiple mounting heights and coverage patterns. Lens options include large motion extended range, small motion standard range, and bi-directional for hallways. Multiple of these low voltage sensors can work together to supply the ideal solution for oddly shaped rooms or large open office areas. This is item number CM 9, a small motion 360° coverage pattern ceiling occupancy sensor. This sensor is push-button programmable with adjustable time delays and multiple operating modes. This model is the best choice for small motion detection (ex. hand movements) as it has a 360° conical shaped pattern. It provides 12 feet of radial coverage when mounted at 9 feet. Detection range does improve when walking across beams compared to into beams. The lens assembly is marked with a gray ring around the lens to differentiate between the CM 9 and the CM 10. This sensor has been tested to the NEMA WD 7-2011 standards. Time delays can be as little as 30 seconds and as large as 20 minutes. This motion detector sensor does come with a green LED indicator and a 100 hour lamp burn-in timer mode. This sensor does require a power pack (PP20 recommended). For installation purposes, mount the sensor directly to a ceiling tile or a metallic grid (two self-tapping screws are provided). The sensor also features mounting holes that align with 3.5" octagon or single gang handy boxes (screws not provided). For optimal detection, position sensor such that segments are crossed upon entrance and unable to view outside the space. See wiring diagram below for wiring instructions.
