Cover produced for the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Cover depicts formation of Defiants from 141 Squadron Hawkinge being intercepted by BF109 RICHTOFEN patrol.
Cover also depicts the RAF Squadron Crest of 141 Squadron and the crest of Jagdgeschwader 2. 
Cover bears 24p defin which is cancelled with BFPS 2217 on 6 February 1990 for the 60th Anniversary of 604 Squadron.

Cover has been flown in Seaking HAR 3 of 202 Squadron from Hawkinge to 20miles south of Folkestone roughly the area in which this squadron patrolled on 19th July 1940 when 7 of their aircraft were shot down by the Richthofen Geschwader.

Cover has been signed by Squadron Leader D J Carey RAF, pilot of Sea King HAR3 of No 202 Squadron that flew the covers.
