COBALT MODERNISM CERAMIC BUTTONS

Leona Caldwell original ceramic button designs.  Leona began her ceramics business in the 1940s.  She later began to design clothing. She was able to combine her love for ceramics and fashion by establishing a business in Scottsdale, AZ.  Leona Caldwell Originals was open from the early 1950's to the late 1970's in Lloyd Kiva's Craftsmen's Court on 5th Ave.

These shank buttons were handmade.  She made the molds too.  None of her buttons were signed.  Fully glazed on front and back.  Buttons are new old stock that have not been used.

Modernism Series Buttons were made in small batches.  Metal shanks hand fabricated.  Please look at photos as they are part of the description.

There are 2 variations with approximate measurements due to shapes of designs.  This shade is in between a blue and light blue.  The round button has a bit of white glaze along the peaks of the textured design.

Look closely and you will notice these are textured.

All are in perfect condition, remainders of her estate and have been safely stored for decades.
