NIMROD IN THE SNOW by Stephen Brown
BAe Nimrod MR.2 of 201 Squadron based at RAF Kinloss in Moray. Developed originally by Hawker Siddeley, the Nimrod was an extensive re-design of the de Havilland Comet, the world's first operational jet airliner. The Nimrod was the RAF's principal maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft from its introduction in the early 1970s, when it replaced the venerable Avro Shackleton, to its retirement in 2010. This particular aircraft, XV250, is now on display at the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington.
