DESCRIPTION

Contains chapters on rock gardens, stream gardens and marsh pools, lakes, ponds, alpine gardens and water lilies.

Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932) was a British horticulturalist, writer and garden designer who created over four hundred gardens across the globe and wrote prolifically for 'Country Life' and 'The Garden'. She was extremely reputable as a result of her subtlety and style.

CONDITION

In a half calf binding. Externally a trifle rubbed, with some wear to the head and tail of the the spine, which is faded as to be expected with this colour, also to the joint. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with the occasional instance of spotting.
