Antique, Primitive Wooden Mallet from 1800's

Up for consideration is a nice Antique, Primitive Wooden Mallet. Upon acquiring the mallet from a Western WI. farm sale the owner indicated that it had been handcrafted possibly from a burl on the family farm back in the late 1800's. Mallet head has a number of imperfections, blemishes, and character from its' years of use. Inspection revealed no known deep cracks, splits, etc. Head does have a small splatter of orange paint on the base. Color matching wooden handle appears to be a replacement though it shows some wear as well. See photos for more detail regarding item condition. Dimensions - Overall length - 9", Length of Head Only - 5", Diameter (Top of Head) 5 1/4", Diameter (Bottom of Head) 4".

Mallet has a great deal of history and character. Will make a great display piece or could even be put back into service if so desired. Feel free to contact us if you would have any questions.  Thank you for looking!
