DESCRIPTION
A lovely edition of the poetry of Thomas Moore, (1779-1852), an Irish poet renowned for combining English and Irish tradition in his verse, and less kindly remembered for the role he had in destroying the manuscripts of Lord Byron, Romantic poet and politician. His 'Irish Melodies' was his most popular and successful work.
Presented in a leather binding.
CONDITION
In a full morocco binding. Externally generally smart, with some bumping to the edges and hinges resulting in a little loss to the leather. Ownership inscription to the front endpaper, which has some tidemarks. Internally, firmly bound, bar the front hinge which is a little strained. Pages are a little age-toned but otherwise clean.
Overall Condition: Good
