About Pearl

Pearl is a traditional Japanese brand that produces flutes, piccolo, alto- and bass flutes and flute headjoints. Pearl Flutes was founded in 1968 in Chiba (near Tokyo) and is part of the Pearl Musical Instrument Company, which is also known for percussion instruments.

The Pearl slogan, A Tradition of Innovation, is well chosen: Essentially, Pearl is a traditional Japanese company, with most employees working their entire career at the company. Young talented students are selected and trained by the most experienced master builders in the company, so the accumulated experience will never be lost. In addition to this focus on tradition, Pearl does a lot of research into material alloys with precious metals such as gold and silver, but also constantly works on improvements in ergonomics and headjoint designs.

Being one of the larger, known Japanese flute brands, Pearl produces a wide spectrum of flutes from  affordable and well-constructed student-flutes, to precious high-quality handmade flutes and wonderful headjoints.

Pearl Headjoints

The most essential acoustic element of each flute is the headjoint. For this reason alone, every headjoint must be handmade. This endeavor is left to the most accomplished foremost craftsmen at Pearl. Experience with not only crafting is needed, but an understanding of the art of flute playing is demanded. All of these headjoint workers are accomplished flautists themselves, having experienced years of both playing and listening.

Fitting this Pearl headjoint to your flute

There are no global standards for the size of the connection between headjoint and flute. Even flutes and headjoints of the same brand will not always fit perfectly. Fortunately, our flute repairman can make almost any headjoint fit your flute. This service is free of charge, but for this we need your flute in our shop to fit.

Delivery and Returns

We ship worldwide. We take care in packing our articles safely. All instruments sold by us are carefully set up and play-checked prior to shipping. You will receive a notification and tracking number that your shipment went out.

Within European Community: We ship with Netherlands Priority Post. Delivery is 2 - 5 working days.

Outside of the European Community: We ship with Netherlands Priority Post which then hooks up with delivery companies such as USPS. Delivery worldwide is 1 - 2 weeks.

If you wish to have your order send with a different postal service that is possible. Please let us know and we will contact you regarding the possibilities and possible extra costs.

Returns: We extend 30 days time to either fall in love with your purchase or return it. If you decide to return it we will refund your money and we ask you to pay the return shipping only.
