Beautiful pair of bronzed antique baby shoes bookends. The sides of the bookends (the part holding up books) are heavy solid metal. These bookends are well made and substantial and should have no problem holding up heavy books. They appear to have an Art Deco style to them.

There is a lovely handwritten note inside one of the shoes detailing the history of the author’s father’s baby shoes. I am not posting to protect the family’s privacy, but it will be included with the shoes. These shoes were likely worn around 1916-17. The baby shoes have buttons instead of ties or straps. They are rather elegant for baby attire.

I found only one similar style of bronzed baby shoes bookends in another listing here, it stated they were made by Colonial Metallizing Company.
