This beautifully handmade wooden chest is made in our own workshop in Shropshire, UK. The chest is individually prepared, assembled and finished by hand to give it it's own unique character to reproduce the look of an old vintage shipping trunk.
 
This versatile piece of furniture has a number of uses... Blanket box, coffee table, toy box and even a tool box.
 
Hand made to order, each piece has its own characteristics in the wood, such as knots, dents, minor splits and variances in shading and graining (but with a smooth sanded surface premium, tactile finish). These are all part of the natural character of reclaimed wood.

This trunk is finished in Georgian Danish Oil and Natural Bee's wax. The lid has two convenient hessian retaining straps and lovely 16mm jute rope carry handles.
