| | | | Original Title: Police Academy / Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment / Police Academy 3: Back in Training / Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol / Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach / Police Academy 6: City Under Siege / Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow
| | | Synopsis: | All seven films from the highly successful comedy series. In 'Police Academy' (1984), a new mayor offers a motley crew of misfits the chance to become police officers when he lifts restrictions that normally apply to new recruits. 'Police Academy 2 - Their First Assignment' (1985) sees six of the inept recruits transferred to another precinct, where the lieutenant's promotion depends on them flunking their training. In 'Police Academy 3 - Back in Training' (1986), budget cuts mean one of the two training academies faces the chop. In 'Police Academy 4 - Citizens On Patrol' (1987), our rookie cops try to involve the local community in order to prevent crime. 'Police Academy 5 - Assignment Miami Beach' (1988) sees Commandant Lassard finally reach retirement age. In 'Police Academy 6 - City Under Siege' (1989), a criminal holds the city to ransom. 'Police Academy 7 - Mission to Moscow' (1994) sees the fabled police team helping out in post-Soviet Union Russia.
Police Academy (1984) New rules enforced by the Lady Mayoress mean that sex, weight, height and intelligence need no longer be a factor for joining the Police Force. This opens the floodgates for all and sundry to enter the Police Academy, much to the chagrin of the instructors. Not everyone is there through choice, though. Social misfit Mahoney has been forced to sign up as the only alternative to a jail sentence and it doesn't take long before he falls foul of the boorish Lieutenant Harris. But before long, Mahoney realizes that he is enjoying being a police cadet and decides he wants to stay... while Harris decides he wants Mahoney out!
Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985) Mahoney and friends have graduated from the Police Academy (1984) and are issued with their first assignments. As before, their cheerfulness and devotion to duty outweighs any shortcomings, but are even they ready to do battle with a band graffiti daubing terrorists?
Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986) When police funding is cut, the Governor announces he must close one of the academies. To make it fair, the two police academies must compete against each other to stay in operation. Mauser persuades two officers in Lassard's academy to better his odds, but things don't quite turn out as expected...
Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987) A new batch of recruits arrives at Police Academy, this time a group of civilian volunteers who have joined Commandant Lassard's new Citizens on Patrol program. Although the community relations project has strong governmental support, a disgusted Captain Harris is determined to see it fail.
Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988) The old Commandant Lassard, leader of the Police Academy (1984), goes to Florida to receive an award. In the city arrives also the cynic Captain Harris who wants to take Lassard's job. Harris wants to place himself in a favorable light in front of the high military hierarchy but, at the airport, Lassard exchanges his bag with another one...
Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989) Our favorite police men are called together to deal with a gang who rob banks and jewelers. Using their various talents as well as their extraordinary luck, the crooks stand no chance against the men and women in blue
Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow (1994) The Russians need help in dealing with the Mafia and so they seek help with the veterans of the Police Academy (1984). They head off to Moscow, in order to find evidence against Konstantine Konali, who marketed a computer game that everyone in the world is playing. With a sequel to the game he wants to put backdoors in all computer systems on which it gets installed, thus providing access to the police and other government systems.
Police Academy (1984) A group of good-hearted but incompetent misfits enter the police academy, but the instructors there are not going to put up with their pranks.
Police Academy 2: Their First Assignment (1985) When a new gang moves into town it's up to the screwball police team to stop them.
Police Academy 3: Back in Training (1986) The alumni of Commandant Lassard's Police Academy (1984) return to the school to train new recruits and prevent its closure.
Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987) The misfit Police Academy (1984) graduates now are assigned to train a group of civilian volunteers to fight crime once again plaguing the streets.
Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988) The Police Academy (1984) misfits travel to Miami, Florida for their academy's commanding officer, Lassard, to receive a prestigious lifetime award pending his retirement, which takes a turn involving a group of jewel thieves after their stolen loot that Lassard unknowingly has in his possession.
Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989) Those bumbling cadets take to the streets when three inept goons successfully orchestrate a metropolitan crime wave.
Police Academy 7: Mission to Moscow (1994) The Russian government hires the veterans of the Police Academy (1984) to help deal with the Mafia. |
