This dress was made by a South African couture house called "Dalenes."

From information I can gather, she made one-off designs for prominent people, wives of politicians, celebrities and the like.

She also had a millinery division and her hats were amazing!

This dress is exquisitely crafted, with lots of small details. I wish I had the correct vocabulary to describe a dress this magnificent, but I'll try!

It would make a great Fall wedding dress. The fit is tailored precision!

About a size 6 - NOT pinned on mannequin. Amazing shape when buttoned.

Bust 34

Almost empire-like

Smallest part of the Waist: 26

Hips quite free

Length from waist seam to bottom about 41

Pretty standard sizing.

(Let me know if you need any other measurements.)

Slight Empire,

4 covered buttons at the back with hooks below the waist for better fit.

See through lace sleeves, with 4 buttons at each wrist.

Fully lined  - At the back is several layers of fabric for shape. I tried to photograph this. There's a lining, then thicker fabric ("horsehair") for shape, 2 layers of net, first layer with lace bottom and then lace.

Double layer of lace at the bottom (don't know how to describe this?)

Last photo taken in clear sunlight. True color.

No tags for fabric content or cleaning info, etc.

I didn't use this for a wedding so no bad voodoo attached to this dress! I don't know if anyone used it before me, but looks absolutely pristine and clean.
