❓ What does WDT tool do?: The most important stage of puck prep is distribution. When coffee is ground, usually there will be a mound of coffee in the centre of the basket and there will be less coffee with gaps around the edges. If the coffee is tamped without distribution, water will flow faster through the edges and gaps as a result coffee will not taste good. Also when coffee is ground almost always there will be coffee clumps. Coffee clumps as the name suggests are squeezed together and they will stay squeezed even after tamping. essentially they will be denser pockets of coffee compared to coffee around them, again this will promote uneven extraction. So what WDT does is it gets rid of coffee clumps and distributes the coffee evenly around the basket.
❓ How to use the WDT:
For best results, single dosing is highly recommended. This means weighing your coffee beans for every shot of espresso (18-19 grams of coffee beans)
After grinding your beans with your dosing funnel attached (prevents spillage and mess), insert the WDT needles into the ground coffee. Start deep from the bottom of the basket and stir and move coffee around. Work up gradually higher until the top of the coffee until having a very nice even looking bed of coffee.
The WDT tool comes with 5 replaceable stainless needles. The needles are 0.4mm in diameter, which is the perfect size for this application without making further channelling in the coffee and strong enough to break clumps. The needles can be replaced simply by untwisting the cap off and removing/replacing the needles.
❓How to insert the prongs (needles): inserting the needles is extremely easy. Simply unscrew the WDT cap (anti-clockwise), and insert the needles from the top through the bottom.

The WDT holder comes with a pre-attached adhesive. The holder can be attached to your coffee machine or wall. Simply lift the protective liner and attach the holder to your favourite spot. The holder is designed in a way if the tool is knocked by accident it will not fall off easily. For best adhesion please clean and degrease the surface where the holder is going to be attached
