The pendant is about 33mm or 1 and 5/16 inch tall measuring from the top of the loop that holds the necklace to the bottom of the pendant. The width is about 16mm (about 11/16 inch). The back is flat and can be engraved, although we do not offer this service ourselves. Most of your local jewelry stores will offer this service for a small fee. We offer a large variety of pendant urns to choose from, so feel free to browse around in our store to make sure you select your favorite. This pendant is unisex, and is appropriate for men, women, and children.
The pendant can be filled using a tiny funnel, or tweezers. You can make a funnel out of a sheet of paper, and it will work just fine. First, unscrew the circle cap on the top of the pendant. Tap the ash into the chamber. With tweezers, just pinch a small amount of ash and the place it into the opening. Be sure to screw the cap back on tightly after filling, but be sure not to over-tighten. Then, the pendant can be worn next to your heart at all times. For a permanent seal, you can use a touch of metal to metal adhesive. Some people prefer they remain able to open to that ashes can be spread in meaningful places, and then refilled. Most people use a touch of superglue to make sure the ashes never spill out, especially if wearing regularly or using on a key ring.
Note: This pendant is NOT hollow. There is just a tiny little chamber under the screw. Only a tiny amount of ash is needed. If you are searching for a pendant that holds a larger amount, this is not the right pendant for you. Please check in our store. Our pendants that say "Large Vial" in the title hold more.
Stainless steel is extremely durable. It will not rust, tarnish or discolor skin. You can clean it at any time using rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth. The alcohol will not damage any part of it, including the black enamel. Keychains do get jostled around quite a bit, so please don't forget to seal it permanently with superglue to avoid accidental spilling of the cremains.

Buyers will receive one pendant urn sealed in a little plastic zip-loc bag, which will be mailed in a small padded mailing envelope. Items are mailed through the United States Postal Service, using First Class shipping, and normally arrive within a week after purchase within the US, but this is NOT a guarantee!! Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for delays caused by the USPS, and they do happen from time to time. International shipping takes longer, of course. Canadian orders take 1-2 weeks on average and overseas orders are usually 3-4 weeks. Every now and again a package will get held up in customs and take longer. We have no explanation for the variance, nor any control over it, so please do not order if you need it by a certain deadline, unless you are willing to upgrade to USPS Priority or Priority Express shipping (USA only). International Priority is $27, and may still take 3 weeks.
