CONTENT: Christie was an Australian commercial artist, illustrator and photographer. Most of her children's books were published in the 1940s and 50s. "As Robert Holden has noted, her `gentle, simple fantasy illustrations’ used ‘strong colours and definite outlines’ , avoiding `over-decorative or unnecessary details . Her vibrant and lively artwork encapsulated the effervescence of childhood imagination". [Australian Dictionary of Biography).
