VLine is a stand alone unit that is fully functional with stereo touchscreen, buttons and controls. WiFi connection is required. VLine offers connectivity with mobile hot spot and/or through your phone internet tethering. VLine VL2 offers offline maps and music options for certain music app plugins.

VLine Features

CarPlay: Via USB or Wireless. Add navigation, phone calls, messages and music apps easily with your iPhone to your car stereo.

Android Auto®: Via USB and Wireless. Add navigation and media apps easily with your Android phone. Simply plug it in via Type-C cable to USB port and ready to go! Phone calls go through the factory system.

Voice Activation: Voice activation allows use of voice control over navigation with Google, Waze, Sygic and HereWeGo maps. Voice search is also available within music app plugins including Spotify, Web Radio, Pandora, Google Music, and local music as stored on USB stick / SD card and connected to VLine VL2.

Music Apps and Plugins: VLine VL2 can play any music app as available in Google Play Store. However all VLine systems have built-in app plugins to create a unified environment with large display fonts and graphics for ease of use while driving. Plugins include Spotify, Google Music and Web Radio (VLine own radio app that is similar to TuneIn).

Navigation Apps: Install any map app from Google Play Store including Google, Waze, Sigyc, HereWeGo. Set default navigation map app for quick access via voice activation and home launcher screen. Voice activation allows use of voice control over navigation with Google, Waze, Sygic and HereWeGo maps. Use stereo buttons and touchscreen to use these apps.

Other apps: Install any app available at Google Play store or sideload your preferred app. Note that not all apps are optimized for driving. Install safely and responsibly.

WiFi Connectivity: WiFi connectivity is required to use the majority of VLine apps and Maps. VLine can connect to the internet via WiFi either using Smartphone internet tethering or standalone mobile data hotspot/modem and data plan.

Bluetooth: Bluetooth A2DP music streaming is available for most Smartphones with cover art and title support.

High Sound Quality: VLine uses the factory car stereo sound system for pure crystal-clear sound.

Firmware: Firmware upgrades are available within VLine system and downloaded over WiFi or USB. It is recommended that you update your VLine VL2 firmware as it is made available.

Wireless Bluetooth Mini Keyboard (sold separately): The keyboard is useful to input any information such as Wifi password or email into VLine. Connects via Bluetooth, easy to operate.

Rear and front facing camera (sold separately): add aftermarket backup and front facing camera to your vehicle with VLine VL2 system. VAUX AV cable is required and sold separately. Note: you do not need VAUX AV cable to retain your factory backup and front cameras, or any other cameras, they will keep working with VLine VL2 system installed.

Integration with your existing system is seamless. You will keep all factory controls and features. You will be able to access FM radio, CD changer, use factory Bluetooth and so on.

We strongly recommend providing our team with details of your vehicle such as model, year and any details of the radio system (ideally send a photo of the screen and controls).  Whilst this compatibility list is the current best working chart, vehicle manufacturers don’t always build with the same specs, especially near facelift model changes! 

Installation in 5 simple steps,  easy for the DIYer or Professional:

1. Remove radio/screen
2. Disconnect video connector, connect Vline connector in its place, connect removed connector to Vline harness.
3. Connect 2^nd Vline connector into expansion/external CD changer connector
4. Route cables (GPS antenna, microphone, USB cables) to preferred location, position main unit (glovebox or behind radio etc)
5. Re-install radio/screen – enjoy!

FAQ:

Q: What modes does VLine allow?
A: VLine is an Android based system and can function independently (of a smart phone) although a data connection is recommended. Using the built-in DashlinQ app makes it simple to navigate music, directions, along with access to any app from Play store. Alternatively connect a compatible iPhone in order to use CarPlay or connect any Bluetooth phone for music streaming or use local music storage.

Q: When VLine is installed, will I lose OEM functions - such as CD changer, steering wheel controls, or backup camera?
A: No. You will be able to preserve all original functions. Your steering wheels and car stereo controls, as well as backup camera will keep working. Only an external CD changer might have to be disconnected!

Q: I am an Apple iPhone user. Can I still use VLine?
A: Yes. VLine is stand alone unit, and can be used without any phone. You can still connect your iPhone to VLine for Bluetooth music streaming or via Apple Car Play.

Q: Will I need to connect the phone to VLine in order to use it?
A: You do not have to connect your phone to VLine in order to use it. VLine is stand alone unit and does not require phone connection. You will only need to connect your phone to VLine if you want to use Bluetooth music streaming, for Apple CarPlay or you might also use your phone as mobile hot spot to provide Internet connectivity to VLine.

Q: How do I provide internet connection for VLine?
A: Tether internet connectivity via your phone -check your phone manual and tariff for this option or use a mobile hotspot.

Q: What maps program do you recommend using with VLine?
A: Google Maps will provide you with turn-by-turn directions and real time traffic. Waze is the other map program that we recommend to use with VLine.

Q: Can I download any offline maps to use on VLine?
A: Yes you can download any offline maps to Micro SD card and connect it to VLine Micro SD port.

Q: Can I use voice search to find the music?
A: Yes the voice search is enabled across all music plugins within VLine. For example you can press on "mic" icon within Spotify and it will ask you what are you looking for. You can say the name of artist, album or song, and it will show you available selections.

Q: What are other apps available with VLine?
A: With VLine you have the access to many other mobile apps available at Google Play store and if using a compatible iPhone you can use CarPlay.

Q: Can I pair my phone for wireless music streaming?
