The exquisite bronze sculpture portrays Jesus Christ seated on a rock, draped in a long flowing robe. His raised hand seems to gather everything in and out of his divine soul, while his slightly closed eyes convey a sense of peace. At his side rests a sheep, attempting to climb onto his lap but ultimately settling for resting its leg on his thigh. The sculpture is a beautiful representation of Christ's compassion and serenity. Cast using the ancient method of lost-wax casting, it features a brown patina finish for preservation and is mounted on a variegated black marble base bearing the signature of the artist, Valli.
