Huge rare figural bakelite carved pansy flower focal button:

ESTIMATED AGE OR ERA = True rare authentic vintage piece - late 1920's to early 1930's in age

METAL AND/OR MATERIAL = The transparent yellow flower body is Bakelite - tested and confirmed with the simichrome and rub and smell methods both.  The inset melon or coral colored center dot does not test to be bakelite, although it has a similar look and feel - I feel it is a related material.  

CLOSURE/CLASP = Integrated silver toned metal shank on the back side

MARKS = None that I could find

MEASUREMENTS = 2" tall or high x 2" wide.  The melon colored center dot has a diameter of 5/8"

US RING SIZE = x

WEIGHT = x

CONDITION = Fantastic vintage condition - some stress type marks or natural bakelite inclusions can be seen around the flower center if you are inspecting very closely and actively looking for flaws.  I believe they are original to the button and not damage at all.  See last pic.  Shank is intact and solid.  I can't find any chips or damage to the bakelite at all - no excessive wear.  This is a beautiful rare old button all the way around
