Usage: Camera using PX625, PX13, MR9 1.35V mercury battery can use it. Such as Olympus OM1, Rollei 35, Canon F1, Canon EF, Minolta SR, Nikkormat F, Nikon F, Yashica 124G, Vintage Light Meters, etc that used the original PX625 (1.35V) battery. Please check the compatibility list below. If your camera is not on the list, please feel free to contact us.
THIS ADAPTER DOES NOT COMPATIBLE WITH LEICA M5. LEICA M5 USER PLEASE PURCHASE OUR PX625 ADAPTER PRO.
How does it work? The adapter converts the size of the PR44 Zinc Air battery to a regular PX625 mercury cell fitting. This is a comprehensive solution that resolved the poor fitting and voltage fluctuation issues when using inferior adapters and voltage regulating adapters. Please avoid using those cheaply made adapters that either have poor air flow design or the one with poor circuity design (e.g. a single resistor). Not only those adapter produces unstable voltage, but also risking the damage of the light meter circuit, especially the more complicated light meter circuit in Canon F-1 and Yashica 124G.
Due to the nature of the zinc-air battery, the continuous operating voltage of the cell will drop to 1.38v to 1.32v, in which within the average mercury cell operating voltage range of 1.42v to 1.28v. The average lifespan of an activated zinc air cell, where the battery seal is removed, is around 1 to 2 months. Noted that putting back the battery seal will not preserve the battery capacity. We also recommend removing the cell from the camera during long storage to prevent any water droplet forming on the zinc-air battery.
Some of the camera models might use different battery types even for the same model name. For example Pentax Spotmatic, Spotmatic F uses PX625, while others use PX400. If you are unsure, please refer to the user manual or drop us an eBay message.
NOTICE: Some devices require multiple batteries. Please refer to the user manual and the compatible list (for reference only) below:
