Today we are excited to present for sale this beautiful antique American Haviland Limoges piece!
This lovely rectangular serving platter dates from 1892-1900. The uncommon pattern, CHF1211, features a white ground and rich cobalt blue border, with the classic gilded trim. This pattern has intricately hand-painted gilded wheat, flowers, and a large butterfly, bringing a splash of color to the gold in the delicate flowers. This large serving platter would be ideal to serve hors d'oeuvres or any culinary delicacy worthy of a grand serving surface! There are two marks on the bottom of each of these pieces - the stamped green "CFH/GDM" and "Depose."
This piece presents well and is in very good antique as-found condition, with minor surface wear/scuffing and patina commensurate with age and use. There is minor loss to gilding. There are two partial repairs/chips to two corners of the piece that do not detract from the beauty or usefullness of the piece. No other chips or cracks.
