Description

Vintage 1980s Jacmel, HAITI Paper Mache
Folk Art Tap Tap Bus Sculpture Hand Made & Painted

So much personality flows from this exuberant sculptured bus made in Haiti. TapTap is the name given to these brightly colored buses that serve as public transportation. Made of papier mache around the 1970s or 80s, the artist was very adept at giving personality to the bus features, drivers and the passengers. There is an artist attribution for 'Marc Arthur' plus other writing in French on the running boards of the piece. It was purchased at a local auction.

Condition is great as this 'Mitsubischi bus'
is still solid and there are no cracks or breaks. Measurements are 14-1/2" tall x  17" long x 8-1/2" wide and it weighs about 2 pounds 7 ounces.
