As Carp anglers ourselves we've been tying carp rigs for over 10 years and decided to utilise that experience by creating Ready Tied Carp Rigs for other anglers on a Full Time basis.
Using only the best components available to us, all of our rigs are created to the highest possible standards and to ensure the best quality we check every single rig for defects or imperfections prior to packaging/despatch. We do not sell any rigs that we wouldn't be willing to use ourselves.
With the customer service we provide, the attention to detail we give and the quality of our products, we're confident that once you've used our rigs you will become a permanent customer.
The Solid PVA BAG RIG is perfect for using over pretty much any lakebed whilst guaranteeing a presented hookbait once the solid pva bag has melted. Cast onto Weed, Silt, Gravel, Clay etc the bag will land on top of any substrate and breakdown leaving a bitesize amount of bait that a carp will find almost impossible to ignore.
The rigs are created with a shorter than normal hooklink to enable the hookbait and hook to fly into the carps mouth and instantly feel the weight of the lead and cause a bolt effect.
The in-turned eye of the hooks provides an aggressive angle on the hooklink which enables it to quickly flip and pierce the bottom lip of the carp. Due to this, the need for shrink tubing or kickers are not really necessary. A perfect rig to keep in your rigsafe along with the similar PVA Bag Ronnie Rig or PVA Bag German Rigs.
I personally use Korda Fake Food Squid Dumbells (slow sinking) or IB Popups with this rig and have complete confidence in that setup but any wafter or popup hookbait will be more than sufficient.
As above and as far as hookbaits go, you can use fake baits such as dumbells, corn, maize, tigernuts, maggots etc or maybe a wafter or popup straight out of the tub. If you want to go even further you can drill out boilies, tigernuts etc and insert some cork to create your own unique hookbaits.
This particular rig has been used to great effect by Korda anglers on Gigantica and other hard lakes which were seen on the Masterclass and Underwater series where countless carp were caught.
To get the best performance from the Solid Bag Rig you should use a wafter or popup where the hook will sit proud of the free bait and primed to nail a greedy carp.
Each rig will be supplied with a FREE single sweetcorn hookbait and tied off with a loop to allow you to either loop to loop onto your swivel or attach normally onto a quick change swivel etc.
Rig breakdown:
This particular rig comes with either a Curved or Wide Gape Hook pattern:-
Curve Shank - The curve of the shank leaves the hook sitting at an aggressive hooking angle and a longer shank for the hookbait to move up and down if using a bait screw for example. This makes it very difficult for the carp to blow the hookbait out.
Wide Gape - A wider gape gives a great hooking potential and aggressive hooking angle which will flip quickly when sucked in by a carp.
Both hook patterns are Teflon coated and anti glare. Available in sizes 4,6,8 in either Micro Barb or Barbless (we do not crush barbs or modify in any way)
The hooklink is made with a supple but heavy sinking braid that ensures that it is out of the way and unlikely to spook the carp when feeding by your hookbait. The rig mechanics allows the hook to flip and take hold very quickly once tightened to the lead.
We have a few different braid colours available for this rig from weed green to silt. There are also different lengths of the hooklink available.
For attaching your hookbait there are various bait attachment options available such as metal bait screws, rig rings, micro swivels, hair, micro rig ring swivel which allow you to mount the bait in your preferred method.
There are various shrink tubing kicker colours available on request. The kicker colour can either be chosen to blend in with the lakebed substrate or to stand out and entice quicker bites as proven on the Korda Underwater series. The kicker also enables the hook to flip even quicker but by no means is it really necessary on this rig.
For terminating the rig we add a loop which can then be attached to quick change swivels etc
The rig is terminated with a figure of 8 loop knot which is solid and very neat.
If the options you require are not included on the listing just drop us a message and we will be more than happy to make the rigs as required.
TIPS:- If you're using a popup or wafter please check the buoyancy is correct before casting into the water. For wafters, use a larger hookbait and then trim it with scissors until you get the correct buoyancy so the hook is laying flat and the hookbait is wafting above it and masking the hook from view. The buoyancy of a wafter will vary depending on the size and brand so it's always worth testing your rig in the margin or a tub before casting. The same goes for popups where you can either add more putty or trim some of the popup so it sinks and sits as you require.
This rig can also be used with METHOD FEEDERS which makes it very versatile.
