Journe presents the latest release Automatique Lune II: Perfect
combination of balance and aesthetics with enlarged date and moonphase
for optimal readability. This latest F.P.
Journe Automatique Lune II release has a mechanical movement with
automatic winding, manufactured in 18kt Rose Gold, building on the
exclusive Calibre Octa 1300.3. It has made its mark as the first
automatic with a power reserve sufficient to insure precision
timekeeping for over fice days or 120-hours (effective power reserve:
160 H ± 10 H). It's 18k gold, with fausses cotes embellishment on the
bridges, a partially circular-grained baseplate, and gilt engraving.
It's constructed with 37 jewels, 259 components, polished screw heads
with chamfered slots, polished rounded pegs, and the steelwork has
polished chamfers and straight graining. It includes an in-line lever
escapement, a monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, and 5
positions, a 15-tooth wheel balance with 4 inertia weights, and a flat
Anachron micro-flamed spring. There is a free-sprung balance, a mobile
stud holder, a slipping mainspring, a variable inertia balance wheel,
and an off-center 22k gold winding rotor engraved with the FP. Journe
logo and motto, with guilloche texture. The optimized winding system
uses ceramic balls, and the mechanism oscillates at a frequency of
21,600 vph (3Hz). It is wound unidirectionally by the exclusive
offer-center F.P. Journe rotor in 22k 5N gold, using a self-locking ball
bearing system for unequaled efficiency. Every infinitesimal movement
of the wrist is thus maximally exploited for an optimized winding of the
watch. The variable inertia balance wheel ensures an optimum yield that
offers irreproachable stability. This latest
new dial is surrounded by blue printed numerals and is in harmony with
the long teardrop-shaped blue steel hands and the moonphase. The new
Automatique Line 2 is fitted with a retrograde power reserve indication
with a 120-hour scale and a larger crown with F.P. Journe's distinctive
silk-rope motif, tying together the aesthetic balance of this piece. The
moonphase complication offers a link to ancient times when the full
moon was the only source of light during the night. White today we no
longer depend on the moonlight for navigation, the Moonphase remains one
of the most poetic of all complications, giving an alternative
perspective of the passage of time. A specific
wheel train allows precise moonphase indications for the Automatique
Lune. Adjusting the indications is done via the crown, which makes it
very easy to use. Francois-Paul
