Offered for purchase is a vintage 1950s ceramic German stein made by Wim Mühlendyck with a pewter lid. The stein has a blue-tinted salt glaze with an owl etched on to one side. Mühlendyck produced a series of steins featuring animal designs. It is signed on the base (photo 6).

Approx. Dimensions: 5 inches tall (excluding the lid); 4 inches wide. It holds a capacity of roughly 3 cups (~700ml).

Condition: Overall very good. The inside of the stein is a little dusty/stained; but there are no chips, cracks, or repairs. Most of the wear is noticeable on the lid. You'll notice that the edges of the lid are a little warped (see photos 1-3 and 9). There is some tarnish and pitting/scratches on the lid as well (photos 7-8). As a rule, I never polish vintage metalware - I always leave the decision with the new owner.
