DESCRIPTION:
This is as good as it gets! We are the sole importers of these gorgeous, Madagascan premium grade pure translucent honey calcite polished spheres. The quality is absolutely breath taking. The starting point for these spheres is a magnificent piece of  premium translucent honey calcite. The calcite is then carefully hand shaped into a fabulous sphere and then smoothed and polished to a glassy shine. There are a couple of sellers in the UK selling Chinese copies but the quality of the calcite in the copies is very poor and the sphere shape is very rough and ready. We have photographed the sphere next to a yellow cube which is 1cm x 1cm to give you an idea of how large this amazing sphere is.... You'll love it !!

Calcite is the most common form of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the Earth’s crust. It is found in many different geological environments, including in sediments, chalk, and organically, in seashells (along with aragonite). Calcite usually forms massively, occurring as marble and limestone, but it also displays a wide variety of beautiful crystal formations with a range of colours. Crystals are rhombohedral or scalenohedral, and it readily cleaves into rhombohedra. In addition, it forms as fibres, nodules and stalactites. Calcite is found in virtually every country.
