Mercury dimes were minted from 1916 to 1945 at the Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Denver mints. Adolph A. Weinman's design of the Mercury dime featured Lady Liberty on the coin's obverse and a Roman fasces on the reverse. Many mistook Lady Liberty as the Roman god Mercury and began calling it the Mercury dime. The name stuck. Mercury dimes are composed of 90% silver and sought after by coin collectors and bullion stackers alike. Mercury dimes were perceded by Barbery dimes and followed by Roosevelt dimes.

Shipping
If your order is placed before 12PM Pacific M-F, we'll usually get it out the same day. We ship on regular business days. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will ship on the next business day. Note that because we use Standard Envelope Shipping (see below) to ship these, we are unable to combine or consolidate shipping costs when you buy multiple of these or other similarly priced coins. When multiple orders are combined, the weight of the package increases and we have to use more expensive tracked shipping.
Standard Envelope Shipping
For small numbers of coins like these we use eBay's Standard Envelope Shipping (ESUS) option. It's an economical and reliable method to ship coins for a fraction of the cost of regular shipping. We pass that savings on to you in the form of lower prices. ESUS envelopes include a barcode that is scanned by the USPS on the way to your location, however these scans are frequently missed by the USPS. Rest assured, your package is still on its way! Also, the USPS reports these ESUS envelopes as "Delivered" before they actually reach your location. This typically happens as they pass through the last USPS sorting facility before your address, but your item may still be several days away. They usually arrive within a day or two after being reported as "Delivered". You should expect your purchase to arrive shortly. Watch for a large envelope with a large white label on the front. Be aware these often arrive well after the estimated date provided by eBay, some times by 2 or 3 weeks. Let us know if you've waited longer than that.
