Joe Diffie (Dec 28, 1958-Mar 29, 2020) was an American country music singer/songwriter. Debuting in ā90, his style is defined as a neotraditional country influence with a mix of novelty songs & ballads. He charted 35 singles on the USA Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, 5 hitting #1: Home, If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets), Third Rock from the Sun, Pickup Man, & Bigger Than the Beatles. 12 other singles hit the Top 10 & 10 others the Top 40. He co-wrote singles for Holly Dunn, Tim McGraw, Jo Dee Messina, & recorded with Mary Chapin Carpenter, George Jones, & Marty Stuart. In ā93 Diffie was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry & in 2002 into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame. Joe Diffie passed away due to COVID related complications in 2020, aged 61.
