This is a spectacular antique French church architectural mount / pediment dating from the 1800's. It would be fantastic to incorporate into a building project as a focal point either inside or outside a house. Or it could just be used as a decorative piece and displayed on a wall or perhaps on a console table with other architectural treasure.

It is made of  cast iron and is an extremely substantial piece, weighing over 10 kg. It has a stunning raised design full of ecclesiastical imagery. At the centre of the design is a cherubic angel with beautiful feathered wings, beneath which is the Sacred Lamb. Above the cherub is the Flaming Sacred Heart with the letter J. A fabulous wreath of lilies frames the ensemble and culminates in a star crest.

The base of the pediment has a central decorative circle of ecclesiastical design with a stunning plumed finial to either side.

The cast iron has patinated over the years to wonderful effect. There are one or two tiny cracks in the cast iron (see directly below the heart) but these do not affect the solidity of the piece.
