"Mallard's Descent" is the first issue in the Waterfowl Legacy collection, which is based on original wood carvings by wildlife artist Lynn Kaatz. The plate was made from an artist's specialty formulated blend of wood and resins. Hand painted.  Plate No. 3418 B Bird and surrounding items are three dimensional. The bird wing stands out approximately 2.5 inches away from the plate.  Endorsed by the Wildlife Society. Edition closed forever March 31, 1993.
