GUIDANCE & PREPARATION - This Cast Iron Tawa Pan is entirely handmade from traditional pure cast iron, therefore the surface will not be completely smooth & may contain marks/bumps. To attain optimum use of this pan, it should be prepared & seasoned before use (See Description on How to Prepare, Season & Clean). The surface does have an oil coating to protect the material as it is pure cast iron. Following the preparation tips, this oil coating will get removed and it will be ready to use.

FLAT TAWA – Cast iron tawa is moulded in a flat shape with a slight lip to let you always cook within the pan, especially foods that are batter based i.e. crepe/pancake/dosa. Flat base shall quickly circulate heat evenly, whereas the lip will prevent food from slipping out the pan & keep excess butter/oil within the pan. You can also add small quantity oil cook/roast some classic indian street tawa foods i.e. pulao, pau bhaji, chicken & more!

HEAVY-DUTY CAST IRON – Heavy-duty cast iron tawa pan crafted to swiftly cook food. Cast iron has heat conductive properties to give even heat distribution & retention when on the hob/stove-top. The more you season the cast iron surface, the easier it will be to work with this pan. Handles are moulded within the pan structure, so you will not have to worry about them becoming loose or food residue being stuck.

Guidance of Use – (Please Read Care Guide Provided)

Preparation – The Cast Iron Pan must be prepared and seasoned before use. First clean the pan thoroughly to remove any manufacturers’ protective oil, rust and then dry completely.

How to Season – Now to season, coat the Cast Iron Cookware surface with a thin/thick layer of oil using a pastry brush or a cloth. After the Cast Iron Cookware surface is coated with oil, place above a medium-high heat hob/stove-top to burn the oil off (first time you do this you may see parts of the black surface begin to peel away, this is fine as sometimes a protective layer is added by manufacturer for safe transit). When the oil has burnt off, turn off the hob/stove-top and allow the cookware to naturally cool down. Once cooled down, wipe away any remaining oil with a paper towel.

Cleaning - Rinse the Cast Iron Cookware with warm water. Gently clean with a soft sponge and very mild detergent. Dry thoroughly and re-season if necessary when thoroughly clean ready for next use. It is best not to wash with any metal, harsh abrasive or very stiff cleanings pads/washing up brushes, or abrasive cleaning agents onANYpart of the cast iron surface. Stubborn stains can be removed using a suitable non-metallic scouring pad.
