LEONA CALDWELL RED AND WHITE SPIRAL~SWIRL~INFINITY UNITS

12 vintage spiral ceramic units are original designs by Leona Caldwell.  Beginning with the mold and ending with glaze, each piece was made by hand in the 1950's.  Originally intended to be strung onto leather to create a belt, these can be repurposed into supplies for jewelry, mosaic, macrame, etc...

Units are from different glaze lots and batches.  Therefore, variations in color and size exist.

Each piece measures 1.25 X 1.25 inches.

For nearly 30 years, Leona Caldwell Originals was located in Scottsdale, Arizona on 5th Avenue.  Leona was part of Lloyd Kiva’s Craftsmen’s Court.  This became an international area of artistic interest during the mid-century.   Working alongside other artists such as Fred Skaggs, Charles Loloma and Lloyd Kiva, Leona continued to create new designs for nearly 30 years.  Her designs represent the beauty of the Southwestern region and its inhabitants.
