DESCRIPTION

The first edition, first impression of Grahame Greene's thrilling spy novel, set in Argentina prior to the 'Dirty War' of the early 1970s.

In the publisher's original dust wrapper, price clipped.

Considered one of Greene's favourites of his own works, it was adapted into a film in 1983, starring Michael Caine and Richard Gere.

Former owner's inscription to half title.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original cloth binding, with price clipped dust wrapper. Externally, bright, with light shelf wear to back strip head and tail. A touch of discolouration to back strip, with minor edge wear to back strip head and tail, and closed tear to head of front wrap, repaired to dust wrapper reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Contemporary owner's inscription to half title. Pages clean and bright.
