Vintage knitting pattern, instructions to make a vintage 1940s/WW2 doll and her clothes.  Includes her dress, vest and knickers, shoes and bonnet.

Size: Approx 12 inches tall when knitted in 3 ply yarn ( you can substitute modern 4 ply yarn, which is similar in weight to the 3 ply of  the 1930s/40s.  But suggest you knit a tension square and adjust needle size before starting to ensure the doll and her clothes are the size you want when finished)

Materials required: 3 ply or 4 ply yarn.

The original pattern would use pure wool yarn, which is less stretchy than modern man made fibres, which may result in a larger/softer/floppier doll.
  • For the doll: 1 ounce yarn in a flesh colour. 1/2 ounce for hair. felt and sewing thread for the facial features.  Child safe stuffing.  2.00 mm knitting needles.
  • For her clothes:  1/2 ounce for knickers and vest. 1 ounce for her dress, bonnet and shoes. Pair each 3.25 mm & 2.75 mm knitting needles. ribbons and buttons for finishing.

Please Note: This is a quality, cleaned and restored copy of the pattern for you to knit the item/s yourself. It is Not for the original pattern or the finished article/s.
