Major General JEB Stuart --- He was the essence of a cavalryman, an elegant military dandy with an unquenchable desire for battle.  They called him flamboyant, audacious, & furious.   James Ewell Brown Stuart was all that and more,  Before his 30th birthday, he had won reknown as one of the most superb cavalry leaders of all time, a consistent source of inspiration to his peers and a constant worry to his foes.  He enjoyed the contact with the enemy and his horses inevitably wore out long before he did.  Lee always thought of Stuart as his 'IDEAL' of a soldier.......
