Beautiful Stainless Steel Lower Grille for
X Type Jaguar
Condition: New
Because of the great success of our Upper front Grille for the X Type, we have received many requests to produce a lower grille to 'complete' the front of the car. We are proud to say here is the stunning result.
Some may wonder why this lower Grille is considerably more expensive than the upper Grille? Well here are the reasons....
The perimeter of the upper grille is hidden behind the existing grille frame / surround, so therefore it doesn't require a stainless rim; but because this lower grille sits in front of the existing 'grille', this means that it requires a precision laser cut & visually attractive stainless steel rim. This rim then has an EPDM rubber edging applied all the way around it, to prevent the rim from scuffing the paintwork and also to give the grille a snug fit into the lower grille 'mouth'. Also because the upper grille is 'sandwiched' within the existing grille assembly, it does not require any brackets or fittings, however the lower grille needs 9 laser cut stainless steel brackets (& stainless bolts & nyloc nuts) to hold it in place. In other words, this lower grille is much, much more costly (in materials & labour) to manufacture.
Fitting of Lower Grille: To fit this grille you need to remove front bumper. It comes with full, easy to follow fitting instructions complete with numerous helpful fitting photographs.
Other lower X -Type grilles on the market require the cutting out & removal of the existing plastic 'grille assembly'. However we feel this existing 'grille assembly' is an important part of the structure of the bumper (giving it strength & support), So we have formed our grille in such a way that it is shaped around the plastic grille assembly - resulting in a simpler fitting procedure and giving the Grille a classic 'curvy' profile in keeping with the rest of the car.
The mesh is premium quality woven stainless steel. For those with knowledge of stainless steel, this is 316 grade, which is a high quality grade stainless that will maintain a bright appearance. This mesh is the same quality & thickness as Jaguar use for their own mesh grilles. This beautiful mesh will enhance & greatly improve your Jaguars appearance.

Electropolishing is the ultimate treatment that can be given to stainless steel; it makes the stainless steel permanently bright & reflective. And makes the job of cleaning the stainless much easier. Give your Jag the face-lift it deserves.......
For all X-Type models from 2001 up to, but not including the 2008 face- lift.
(The pre and post face-lift models are easily identified by their upper grilles: the pre face-lift model has a vertical divider in the center of the upper grille - this lower grille will fit this model.
The post face lift model does not have a vertical divider, but instead has a badge within the middle of the upper front grille, if your model has this badge then this lower grille will not fit your car.
Electropolishing
Electropolishing is not electro-plating or chrome plating (both electro-plating & chrome plating actually deposit a coating on the surface of the metal, but as you probably know coatings or platings can be chipped off)
Electropolishing is electro-plating in reverse. Instead of depositing a coating of another material on a surface, the action of electropolishing is to remove a surface layer, typically 20-40 micro-metres in depth in the case of stainless steel. The result is that the electropolished stainless steel surfaces become bright and highly reflective. This results from the removal of an often contaminated surface layer and the electrochemical action of micro-smoothing. The advantageous features resulting from such a bright and smooth surface are many. The passive oxide layer, which is essential to prevent stainless steel from corroding, cannot be improved upon following electropolishing. By reducing the total surface area, a result of micro-smoothing, particles and contamination are less likely to adhere to an electropolished finish. After electropolishing the surface if the stainless steel can be cleaned and kept clean more easily. The highly reflective bright finish is ideally suitable to exterior vehicle trim & grilles.

Sometimes deliveries to islands or outlying areas belonging to a country are charged at a higher rate than usual mainland deliveries. CARRIAGE
All items are shipped Monday through to Friday within 48Hrs (usually within 24 Hrs) of payment clearing. No items are sent after Noon on Friday.
Most items will be sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48 Hour service to inland UK addresses or “INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR” Airmail service to overseas addresses. Larger or heavy items may be sent via FedEx or ParcelForce
Faster posting methods may be available on request and will require additional funding.
Please note all orders will be sent to the address stated on the ebay order unless otherwise requested.
We will try our best to make this transaction as smooth as possible, however please note the following;
1. Unfortunately we have no control over Royal Mail’s delivery timescales. We can only control the time taken from your payment having cleared to the time your package is put into the postal system. If your package arrives next day then Royal Mail deserve the credit for delivering it quickly, if it takes longer than Royal Mail’s target times, then Royal Mail deserve the criticism for the long delivery times.
2. Royal Mail 1st and 2nd class deliveries do not have a guaranteed delivery timescale. Royal Mail will not class a parcel as lost until 15 days have passed from posting date and sometimes it can take the full 15 days before a package is delivered.
3. We cannot do anything with regards to lost parcels until 15 working days (Monday to Friday not including weekends or bank holidays) have passed from posting date. If your purchase has not been delivered after 15 working days please contact us and we will take it up with Royal Mail for you. Please ensure that you have contacted your local sorting / delivery office to check to see if it is there before contacting us as often this is where they are being held.
4. All deliveries will need a signature so please be sure to provide an address where someone is available to sign.
5. A confirmation e-mail of your purchase and posting date will be sent via your eBay accpount (PayPal email address for any PayPal payments including E-cheques, EBay e-mail address for payments by cheque, postal order/bankers draft or bank transfer) once payment has cleared. If you do not receive your confirmation e-mail please contact us through eBay.
Returns
We make sure that we describe our products accurately, and are confident that you will be delighted with your purchase. If for some reason you are not happy with your purchase, you may return the item within 14 days, and providing the product is in a re-salable condition, we will issue a refund.
Return postage costs are your responsibility.
(Note: if for some reason you return Sill Protectors / Plates, please make sure that, to avoid scratching, they are packed in such a way that nothing is touching the faces. If they are scratched we will not be able to re-sell them).
