Vintage road bike frame from the early to mid 1970s.

Made in France, I am still researching the artisan that produced the frame. During the time, France had a culture in regard to artisan bicycle builders and so many extremly gifted builders with great attention for details, produced in limited numbers and their name remained largely unknown.

This particuclar frame, still has the fork and seat tube decals identifying the Vitus tubes used for its construction. A 1970s BCM or BOCAMA lug catalog identifies this rounded cutout lugs, and the fork seems to be build using Cinelli internal crown. Rear dropouts and fork tips are Simplex drilled from the exterior.

Both fork and frame have brazed eyelets for fenders, probably an option of the original owner.

Seat lug has a special shape with chamfered sides, and. the seat binder bolt is threaded directly in the seat lug.

Rear derailleur cable has a guide near the dropout placed some 20-30 degrees to the exterior of the frame (nice touch!)

The chain stays seem to have been lateral pressed in the shape of a lemon, for better lateral stiffness.

Bottom bracket is french threaded 35x1.

Rear dropout distance is 120mm indicating an older standard.

Shifter braze-on bosses are dedicated for the Simplex SLJ shifter set.

Stronglight steel headset will be included with the frame set.
