This amazing textile is one of the most rare I've found in my career. This textile is a late 18th century hand embroidered quilt from Macao. This textile was produced for the Portuguese market as the stylized flowers were specifically designed to Portuguese taste. Portugal in the 18th century, was a wealthy country and many textiles were being produced for this market. This is a fabulous example. The design is wonderful. Central circular design flanked by stylized floral borders. 

This textile has fading, heavy toning and staining. There are holes , tiny small, medium and large. It's fragmenting in areas. There are dark stains in areas ~ . Please use the zoom feature on the photographs to view carefully before purchasing. The condition is reflected in the price. In excellent condition, this textile would multiples more expensive. It's still wonderful, with condition issues.  ~ it's a rare beauty! Ideal for any collection, museum or for study ~
