Archival Quality Print of US Stamp #PR125 "Indian Maiden" issued in 1896. This periodical stamp and others of its type were produced for prepayment of bulk rates for shipping of newspapers and other printed materials. Prices for these stamps where lowered until mailing printed materials became quite cheap. As a result, small-scale publishing increased providing greater access to printed materials and a greater level of knowledge of local affairs in the U.S. The item offered is an archival quality (giclée) print. It will, with your care, remain in unfaded, color-fast condition for approximately 100 years. This print is produced on heavy, acid-free matte paper made from 100% cotton, without bleaching agents of any kind. I use high-quality, archival inks only. Included is a clear plastic sleeve to protect the print from fingerprints and dust. I am proud to offer you this print. In terms of decorative effect, I've hand-crafted a print which evokes the mellow color of a stamp you see today, but without dinginess. This print will not barge its way into your living or dining room, but will blend harmoniously with any decor.
